Food & Beer Lovers Need to go to Draft Republic | San Diego Restaurant Review

Hello friends!  If you’re in the UTC area and are a lover of food & beer I have a great new place for you to try called Draft Republic. I am absolutely in love with this place and am planning on this being my new hangout.  This Gastropub is crazy fun with free pool, ping pong, fooseball (which is my favorite), shuffleboard, great food, and 36 beers on tap. I can’t stop raving about this place so if you’re in the area, give it a try and let me know what you think.

All photos were done with my camera phone.  One of these days I’ll bring a real camera but for now my phone will have to do.

Loved these mannequins.  What’s even better is it seems like they’re always dressed up in something different every time I go in there.

“I am a firm believer in the people.  If given the truth they can be depended upon to meet any national crisis.  The great point is to bring them the real facts, and beer.” ~ Abraham Lincoln

This first one was SOOOOO good. These Jalapeno Deviled Eggs were quite possibly the most amazing deviled eggs I’d ever eaten in my life!  For those of you who know me, know that I can’t do hot or spicy but these tasty treats were just so good and were just the right amount of heat.  I paired this with a Chimay Triple which is a beautiful Belgian beer in my opinion.

Item to the left is Draft Republic’s Buffalo Buttermilk Chicken Lollipops with bleu cheese cream and celery sticks.  To the right was a delicious Brie Burger.  It was grass fed beef, onion jam, pretzel buns, and parmesan-herb fries.  I would have loved this burger with tater tots or even sweet potato tater tots. Mmmm tots!

We also got the House-Made Crispy Maple Bourbon Bacon Sticks(3).  This was heaven on a stick!  Served with apple chips

Also delicious were these items. To the left, Beer Brined Smoked Chicken Breast with grilled baby vegetables, roasted fingerling potatoes, and chicken jus.  To the right is the Tuna Tataki with crispy wonton, guacamole, and cilantro

To the left were the Moroccan Spiced Lamb Corndogs and to the right Stoned Fish & Chips which were made up of stone pale ale battered cod, parmesan & herb fries, pickled green beans, and spiced tarter sauce.  My only complaint with this dish was the pickled green beans.  They were intentionally served cold which I didn’t particularly care for

Finally for dessert one of my favorites…the House-Made Expresso Buttercream Doughnut with Expresso Ice Cream.  Soooooo good!!!

Again I can’t say enough good things about this new Cohn restaurant.  It has such a fun vibe, the food is great, and the staff are attentive.  I promise you’ll love it!
